THE MIRACLE OF BERN
synopsis
Summer, 1954. In a small town in the Ruhr, Matthias Lubanski, 11, waits with his mother and brothers and sisters for his father, a prisoner of war, to return home. An avid football fan, the young boy has long since adopted the national team’s player Helmut Rahn as a surrogate father. He even earns a little pocket money by carrying bags for his idol.
