YESTERDAY
synopsis
Passion for his work leads Luca (Peppino Mazzotta), a documentary filmmaker temporarily teaching in a prison, to reconstructing the inexplicable murder committed by the truck driver Beppe (Francesco Di Leva) for his students’ end of course project. During the reconstruction of the incident, the inmates taking part in the workshop find a purpose in the work they’re doing, while Luca retraces the events and meets the web of family ties surrounding the incident:the victim’s sister (Daphne Scoccia), the actress who plays the victim (Maria Roveran) and the family that abandoned Beppe (including his wife, played by Teresa Saponangelo). The simultaneous and unexpected visit of Luca’s daughter (Denise Tantucci), who comes back to visit him after years of being apart, will force him not only to question his own relationship between identity and memory, but also to understand that the love the world around him requires is the solution to coming out of his crisis.
