Aleksandar Jakovljevic, a young but experienced inspector, gets his first big case: the murder of the daughter of a reputable building contractor. Parallel to the development of the investigation, which goes in several directions, Aleksandar is torn between two women working with him on the case: young forensic scientist Jelena, with whom he's secretly in love; and public prosecutor Marija, with whom he's having an affair. He reveals that the death of his former police inspector father is in some mysterious way connected with the death of innocent girls. Completely alone in the fight for the truth, he risks his own life.
