Joseph and Sonya are connected by a close friendship and their young son Pino, whom they are raising together. While director Joseph is working through a new idea for a film and the breakup with his ex-boyfriend Marc, Sonya is suffering from a depression that increasingly tears her from her life. When she is placed in a clinic, Joseph not only has to juggle his everyday family life but also his artistic ambition.
