START ME UP

by Lucien Jean-Baptiste

synopsis

Unexpectedly fired, Alain spends his free time babysitting his grandkids while looking for a job. Despite all his years of experience, no one wants him. But he’s not giving up! Convinced he still has what it takes to succeed, Alain decides to become his own boss and create a startup to offer a service in high demand: childcare. His wife Mathilde is not enthusiastic about this ambitious project he’s dreamed up with his two new motley associates: logistics manager Veronique, still emotionally crippled from a sour divorce, and celebrity spokesperson Jean-Pierre Savarin, an aging game show icon trying to make a comeback. But Alain’s enthusiasm is irresistible. He inspires everyone to exceed expectations. Then, just as they are about to close the deal, personal problems and financing troubles jeopardize the project. Do they still have what it takes to prove it’s never too late to make a new start?
