THE GREEN DEAL

by Edouard Bergeon

synopsis

Carole leads a peaceful life in rural France, where she teaches English. One morning, everything collapses: her son Martin, who has gone to Indonesia to do research, has just been arrested in Borneo. Accused of drug trafficking and sentenced to death, Martin is above all the embarrassing witness to the atrocities committed by palm oil producers. To save her son, Carole decides to attend the trial and confront the powerful lobbies protecting the interests of the so-called “biofuels”.
