TURISMO DE GUERRA

by Kikol Grau

synopsis

Unbribable in his practice of an ever-subversive cinema, Kikol Grau (Las más macabras de las vidas, Los demenciales chicos acelerados...) on this occasion sets aside his work with archive material to become our guide on a tour of the spaces of historical memory in Spain. A tour that highlights how the recollection of horror generates a tourism industry that contradicts the historical significance of these places. With the always timely use of dialectical montage, the contrapuntal use of music and the precise doses of chaos, Grau delves into the contradictions, paradoxes and cracks in the official discourses surrounding our recent past, while at the same time pointing to the new forms of war that threaten our immediate present.
