MORE NA DVORE

by Martin Horský

synopsis

The likeable Josef is a successful master violin maker. He is pleased that the instruments he makes bring joy to people all over the world. He himself likes to spend time in his workshop in the courtyard of his terraced house. He has never even been to the sea, his sea is a puddle in the yard, which he protects from drying out so that the birds have something to drink. He has no wife or children, only his dog Pampeliška, who accompanies him every step of the way. Josef secretly loves his beautiful neighbor Anežka and looks forward to Wednesday chess games with his best friend Václav, a charismatic piano tuner who can perfectly tune even most female pianists. Although Josef has already made a number of master instruments, he knows that his violin making skills are still not at their peak. For now, he hesitates to reach for the best wood, which he carefully preserves in the workshop. He has so much time ahead of him – for the master violin and for meeting Anežka. But life changes in an instant. A sea of time can suddenly become a mere puddle. With the help of his friends, Josef begins to fulfill all the dreams he no longer wants to put off. And so he finally finds the master violin and the true love of his life.
