SUGARLAND

by Isabella Brunäcker

synopsis

Iga (Jana McKinnon), who recently broke up with her boyfriend, is driving in her car. Via monotonous highways and cheap accommodations, she travels from her home in Austria to Scotland. Along the way, she picks up Ethan (Bill Caple), an Englishman who is a bit older and appears to be living a precarious, vagabond life. After initial hesitation on the part of both, the two travelers slowly get closer—until the film takes a surprising turn shortly before the English Channel.
