THE GOLDEN SPURTLE
synopsis
Did you know that you have to stir clockwise when you stir your oatmeal? Otherwise you're letting the devil into your porridge. Everyone knows this- at least in the village of Carrbridge in the Scottish Highlands. For 30 years the town has hosted the World Porridge Championships. This year it's a special championship because it's the last time Charlie Miller will be in charge of the festivities. His health is failing, and now it's time for the warm-hearted Scotsman to pass on the spurtle.
