MARKO POLO
by Elisa Fuksas
synopsis
Elisa Fuksas finds herself at an existential crossroads when the film project she has been working on for years fails. It is the beginning of a profound crisis that leads her to question not only her career, but also her faith in the world and in God. As Elisa’s voice-over interrogates herself about this failure, she is promptly interrupted by the Holy Mother, who impatiently admonishes her: “You are dreary and full of doubt, that’s the problem.” By desacralising her crisis, that voice, that sacred yet profane figure, pushes her to react, causing her to go on a pilgrimage.
