Overworked New York architect Daphne Bello arrives in the Rhodope Mountains to inherit the run-down house of a grandmother she never knew, who’d recently passed at age 103. While trying to learn the truth about her Bulgarian father, who died when she was a teenager, Daphne realises that the property her quirky local cousin Orlin wants to buy off of her is much more valuable than he claims. As she uncovers the dramatic story of her father's family, still vivid in the memory of the local centenarians, Daphne finds a much-needed opportunity to reinvent herself.
