SUMMER HIT MACHINE

by Jérôme Vandewattyne

synopsis

A somewhat dysfunctional Belgian rock band retreats to the countryside to record their potential future hit Les mouches ça mange de la merde—and it might even win the upcoming Summer Hit Machine contest. Among musicians and their crew, tensions rise: it seems a saboteur is lurking among them. The band’s creative process, their aim for a hit song, and celebrity culture are all shredded through a lens of paranoid, psychotropic Belgian humor and counterculture.
