Walter (Heiner Lauterbach), a quirky retired widower, dedicates his time to meticulously reviewing restaurants online. During one visit, he unexpectedly runs into his childhood sweetheart, Alice (Iris Berben), whom he unsuccessfully proposed to four decades earlier. While the vivacious art professor enjoys her independent life, Walter is rekindled with the ambition to do better this time. Alice, however, remains reserved and sets a condition: only if he shows genuine interest in her world can there be a second chance. Determined, Walter, who previously had no interest in art, enrolls as a guest student in her course. There, he not only has to impress Alice but also contend with significantly younger classmates. For both of them, an unexpected new chapter begins, raising the question of whether old love truly never fades.
