A young and brilliant lawyer from Trieste, having successfully defended a charismatic university professor against a sexual-assault charge, is contacted by him again to bring a case against the university that, although it has reinstated him, relegates him to a marginal role. At the same time, her past comes back to haunt her: strange signs, elusive presences and a constant sense of menace sow the suspicion that her ex-partner, violent and so obsessed with her that he was convicted of “stalking”, has started pursuing her again. As the line between reality and imagination grows ever thinner, Elisabetta resolves to uncover the truth, in a crescendo of tension that will leave her alone and force her to question everything she thought she knew.
