Spain, the 1980s. Miguel and Alicia are haunted by the disappearance of their son Gabriel. Miguel is consumed by the guilt of that drunken night when he lost him. For Alicia, by contrast, the one who died that day was not her son, but her husband. Far from that hell, Philippe, a ten-year-old French boy, travels with his parents in a caravan. Their paths cross with those of Miguel and Alicia. That encounter sets off a one-way journey into the darkest side of human nature.
