TORRENTE PRESIDENTE
synopsis
Years have passed since his last, disastrous “mission”, but José Luis Torrente is convinced that Spain is going through its most critical period… and that only he can save it. Forgotten by the institutions, scorned by his former allies and scraping by amid scams, debts and conspiracy theories, Torrente spots a unique chance to step back into the spotlight: national politics. After an imbroglio as absurd as it is dangerous, he finds himself swept up in a deranged election campaign, surrounded by advisers even more incompetent than he is, opportunistic 'influencers' and old acquaintances who would rather not cross his path again. Convinced that the country needs “a firm hand, common sense and his very particular vision of order”, Torrente hurls himself into a race for power where chaotic rallies, impossible promises and totally out-of-control clandestine operations collide.
