ULYSSE

by Laetitia Masson

synopsis

Alice, a sociology researcher, discovers that she is pregnant. Luc, her husband, is ecstatic. It’s going to be a boy! They’ll name him Ulysse. Except that at one year old, Ulysse doesn’t register on the growth charts. Too small, too thin. The paediatricians are puzzled, and the verdict comes in: a genetic syndrome. Ulysse won’t be like other children. But what will he be like? A mystery. Thus begins Ulysse’s very particular odyssey: walking, talking, learning, understanding, thriving. Alice embarks on the adventure, determined to ensure that Ulysse finds his place in the world.
