AMONGST THE BIRDS
by Mika Kaurismäki, Ragnar Axelsson, Ingvar Thórdarson
synopsis
Loðmundarfjörður is located at the easternmost tip of Iceland. There are few people out there. On the other hand, there is a rich bird life of migratory eider birds, which fly great distances to lay their eggs right here. When the season arrives, the lovely elderly couple Ólafur and Jóhanna are ready to welcome them with homemade birdhouses. Occasionally, their friends and family drop by their shed for a cheerful chat and a good, strong cup of coffee. Everyone is ready to lend a helping hand in the preparations.
