On Halloween night, a fifty-year-old pastry chef is busy preparing a wedding cake when Nina, a young twenty-year-old Ukrainian woman in an obvious state of confusion, shows up at his door. The girl is the daughter of the "Chernobyl girl" that Christian had welcomed into his home many years before. In the middle of the night, while a violent storm causes a blackout, the two protagonists are forced to confront a secret that has been kept hidden for too long.
