Tatjana is lonely. Born in Croatia, she lived in various locations around Europe before settling in Amsterdam. Fifteen years later, her teenage son is embarrassed by his strange mother, who speaks with a strong Slavic accent and suffers from a lack of Dutch restraint. But this is nothing new: Tatjana has always felt like an outsider everywhere she goes.
