Benjamin and Amélie, a young couple in their thirties, decide to buy their dream house on a life annuity basis from Nicolette, a woman who seems to be dying. But shortly after the sale, her health improves markedly, and the couple begin to wonder if they have been swindled. Soon brought to their knees financially, they are forced to contemplate the worst.
