DOUBT

by Thierry Besseling

synopsis

A couple of months away from his ordination, young Catholic deacon Jean decides to briefly join a remote monastery in Luxembourg to decide whether he’s more suited to monastic life. His days are spent in prayer, ritual, choir practice, and quiet observation of the peaceful life there. However, the arrival of a visitor, an attractive young man who also happens to be a benefactor to the monastery, awakens unsettling feelings Jean struggles to identify. Soon, Jean is forced to confront his convictions, but also the very foundation of his sense of belonging.
