In Uruguay, where he lives with his wife and son Thomas, Orlando Vargas suffers from pressure from the government. Permanently watched by a policeman, Orlando seems not to care about danger. Thomas is the only witness of the rage he tries to drown in alcohol. He decides to leave with his family to go to Josefina, the last village by the sea before Brazil. There, things move faster: on the day on his arrival, Orlando does not come back home.
