THE PERFECT AFTERNOON
synopsis
Twenty-year-old Mikołaj, his girlfriend Anna, and his partner Krzysiek have a small publishing house in Gliwice. After the financial failure of their first book, they are seeking a suitable new manuscript. Meanwhile, Mikołaj’s mother, Maria, who lives in Warsaw, is visited by her ex-husband Andrzej, who lives in Wrocław and used to be a member of Solidarity. Andrzej has received an invitation to their son’s wedding and wants to attend it with Maria. But Maria declines; they separated twelve years ago, but it is still painful for her. Andrzej does not give up, and after a long talk, he finally persuades Maria to join him on the trip to Upper Silesia.
