synopsis

One evening during November 1910, Mr and Mrs Seurel, who run a peaceful country school in the Sologne, welcome a new boarder, Augustin Meaulnes. The natural class of this tall teenager soon earns him the nickname of "Great Meaulnes". He shares a room with the Seurel’s son, François, and they quickly form a friendship. Sensitive François falls under Augustin’s spell.
Adapted from the eponymous novel by Alain Fournier.
