L'UOMO DI VETRO
synopsis
The fight of an anti-hero – part victim, part criminal – against the Mafia. A weak, fragile man, Leonardo Vitale is interesting for the many contradictions that marked the last years of his life. He broke the code of “omertà” (silence) that prevented judges from penetrating the Mafia, to cast light on an impenetrable world. Betrayed by the Mafia, isolated by his friends, he spent 12 years between jail and a psychiatric prison and was subjected to frequent electric shock therapy to prove his madness. Leonardo Vitale was killed in 1984, a few months before being released from prison. Based on the eponymous book by Salvatore Parlagreco.
