Julien, a young French film director of Italian origin, after many years goes back to Italy to produce a film he has just written the script. Julien arrives in Rome to meet the Italian producers and to set with them agreements for the film. He is staying in the apartment of five young women, who all want to be actresses, which take his arrival as the great chance of their life they have been waiting for... Things start to take a different direction from what Julien had expected. Disenchantmen and sadness replace his initial optimism...
