The landscapes of Morocco’s desert and kasbahs become the palpitating backdrop for the adventures of a lonely seventeen-year-old, Valerio, when he suddenly decides to escape with his three teenage friends for a holiday to North Africa. Little does Valerio’s divorced father know that when he rushes in pursuit of his son on the road to Marrakech, a crescendo of love, mystery, and discovery awaits them all. As they are drawn more and more deeply and inextricably into the labyrinth of impossible events in a totally new and magical universe, each of the young people lives an important turning point.
