NAZARENO
by Varo Venturi
synopsis
Nazareno, 34 years old, born in Rome. It's night time; within the walls of an elegant office of the city centre, a man sits among many computer monitors checking Nazareno's ID profile: a caring nurse for old people, a tounghie-hire in illegal debt-collection enterprises, and a ex-con. But another information catches the man's interest: Nazareno is bound to a small Catholic fraternity. Now that's an illegal subject. Nazareno's day-to-day schedule apparently confirms the profile data, a sweet and tireless carer of the old an the sick during the day and taking to tough "raids" on trickster debtors by night. He who since childhood attended a small religious community following the will of his tyrannical and violent father; he who tries hard to reunite his disrupted familym taking care of his troubled sister; he who carries like a cross the heavy burden of his name, looking for answers in the Apocryphal Gospel; he intensely feels the need to do something more, but most of all to "understand"...
