IL PUGILE E LA BALLERINA

by Francesco Suriano

synopsis

Enzo and Fabio live together in Rome and make an odd couple. Enzo is a great expert and twentieth-century art dealer. Fabio is a boxer whose sporting career is on the wane. Enzo is a homosexual. Fabio not at all. They respect each other but tension is always there. It is the story of three years of one-sided love, without hope. In the story, before and after merge and overlap as if the story was trying to untangle the reasons for this impossible love. Osho and Carletto are an odd couple too: they spend their days committing minor fraud, posing as policemen. But Osho has the upper hand over Carletto and theirs is a relationship of unresolved abuse. The two couples live a parallel life characterised by misunderstanding and violence. They are the unhappy victims of their male loneliness.
