Rafi Pitts

Born in Mashad in Iran in 1967 of an Iranian mother and a British father. As a child he appeared in several films. The family left Iran in 1978 and he continued his schooling in England. He studied film and cinematography at Harrow College.
He moved to France in 1991, where he made his first short film during the same year. His featurefilm debut, LA CINQUIEME SAISON, was a hit on the international festival circuit. ZEMESTAN, his third feature, screened in Competition during the 2006 Berlinale.
