Miguel Ángel Jiménez

Miguel Ángel Jiménez (Madrid, 1979), abandoned his Law degree to study film photography. In 2003 he shot his first short film in 35mm, Las huellas, co-produced by Aki Kaurismäki. In 2007 he founded the production company Kinoskopik Film Produktion. His works include the feature films Ori (2009) and Seagull (2012)—both competitors in San Sebastian’s New Directors section—the documentaries Días de El Abanico (2008) and Y en cada lenteja un dios (A God in Each Lentil, 2018), presented in last year’s Culinary Zinema section at San Sebastian, as well as the short films Khorosho (2010) and Kafenio Kastello (2018), both participants in the Kimuak selection and screened at the San Sebastian Festival.
