Sophie Heldman

Born in Hamburg, in 1973, she spent her childhood in Switzerland and currently lives in Berlin. She studied at the German Film And Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin and at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

During her years as a student she worked as an assistant director with Sydney Pollack, Stina Werenfels, Xavier Koller and Daniel Schmid. Icke, her graduation short, was nominated as Best Short at the Max-Ophüls-Preis Festival and screened at other competitions.

Satte Farben vor Schwarz is her first feature.
