Paula Markovitch

Paula Markovitch was born in Buenos Aires on 28.5.1968. In 1976 her family moved first to San Clemente del Tuyú and then to Córdoba, where she began to write poems, stories and plays. After emigrating to Mexico, she became a dramaturge and lecturer at the film institute IMCINE among other places. She has contributed as a writer to feature films such as LAKE TAHOE (winner of the Alfred Bauer Preis in 2008), and has directed two short films. EL PREMIO marks her debut as a feature film director and won 2 Silver Berlin Bears at the 2011 Berlinale for best camera and production design. (Source : Berlin Film festival)
