Annette Sjursen

Was born in Norway in 1962. Worked as a newspaper and TV- journalist, mainly as a film-critic, before she stared making short films.

She has directed both documentaries and short films, as well as features. After her third short film Dublin in Rain, which received international recognition, she made her feature film debut with the intimate, dramatic comedy My Jealous Barber in 2004.

The film was a success among critics, and won several awards. In 2010 Sjursen co-wrote and directed the more epic drama Pax, about seven people faced with new perspectives on their lives after one of the engines on their airplane explodes in mid-air. The films screenplay has also been adapted into a book by Sjursen. (www.norvegianfilms.no)
