Bertrand Blier
Boulogne-Billancourt, 1939. He debuted in 1963 with the short film La grimace and the documentary Hitler – Never Heard of Him, which won the Silver Leopard at Locarno.
He made his first feature film, If I Were a Spy, in 1967. Ten years later he won the Best Foreign Film Oscar for Get Out Your Handkerchiefs. He won five Césars and the Cannes Jury Grand Prize for Too Beautiful for You.
Other award-winning films followed, including 1, 2, 3, Sun (two Césars, among other honors) and My Man (which won Anouk Grinberg the Best Actress nod at the Berlinale).
