Born in 1972 in Germany, but raised in Switzerland, Micha Lewinsky initially works as a screenwriter for film and television. Notable credits include Weihnachten (2002), Little Girl Blue(2003) and Sternenberg (2004). In 2005 he begins directing, with the short film Herr Goldsteinwhich wins the Pardino d’oro in Locarno. In 2008, The Friend, his first fiction feature as a director, wins the Swiss Film Award for Best Fiction. He then makes Will You Marry Us? (2009) and A Decent Man (2015).
