Julien Samani

Born in 1973, Julien Samani initially works as a photographer before enrolling at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris where he studies visual arts. In 1998 he obtains a grant for the Cooper Union School of Design in New York and makes two short films there. In 2004, he signs La Peau trouée which earns him the Prix Jean Vigo for Best short film, and goes on to direct Sur la piste (2007) and Les Hommes de la forêt 21 (2008) which wins the Jury prize at the Visions du Réel festival in Nyon.
