He is a screenwriter and director whose writing credits include Last Resort (2000) and 28 Weeks Later (2007). He directed the televised features Secret Life (2007), which he also wrote, and The Shooting of Thomas Hurndall (2008), for which he won the BAFTA for best television director. Brighton Rock is his first feature film.
