Pablo Stoll

Pablo Stoll Ward was born in 1974 in Montevideo. He met Juan Pablo Rebella in his hometown University, successfully teaming up with him for two films, 25 Watts (2001) and Whisky (2004). The Top Prize in Rotterdam or the FIPRESCI at Cannes and in Buenos Aires were the most celebrated awards for a couple of titles that made a name for Stoll y Rebella.

They immediately joined the ranks of “frugal, melancholic comedians” in line with Aki Kaurismäki or Roy Andersson. Following Rebella’s tragic death, Stoll worked as producer, actor and script writer for the satirical TV program "Los informantes", awaiting until 2009 to make his film debut as solo director with Hiroshima.
