Werner Herzog

Born in Munich on 5.9.1942, Werner Herzog made his first short film in 1962 and in 1968 won the German Film Award for his feature debut, SIGNS OF LIFE. One of New German Cinema’s most idiosyncratic proponents; he also collaborated regularly with Klaus Kinski (MY BEST FRIEND). The director of numerous documentaries, also working in the USA, he most recently enjoyed international theatrical success with the drama BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL – NEW ORLEANS (2009).
