Doris Dörrie

Born in Hanover, Germany in 1955, she studied acting and film in Stockton in California and subsequently philosophy and psychology in New York. From 1975-78 she studied at Munich’s University of Film and Television where she later taught. After a number of films for television she made her debut as a feature film director in 1983 and directed the phenomenally successful comedy, MÄNNER in 1985. A well-known writer, she most recently enjoyed theatrical hits with her Berlinale competition entry KIRSCHBLÜTEN - HANAMI and DIE FRISEUSE. Her film, GLÜCK (BLISS) was screened at the 2012 Berlinale.
