Lars von Trier

Born in 1956. Graduated from the Danish Film School in Copenhagen. Danish director, screenwriter, cinematographer, actor and producer, one of the most outstanding filmmakers of the 1980s and 1990s.

A co-author of the Dogma Group Manifest. A winner of numerous awards: Jury Award at Cannes International Film Festival and European Film Award for Breaking the Waves (1996), Golden Palm at Cannes International Film Festival for Dancer in the Dark (2000), and European Film Award for co-authoring Dogma Manifest (2008).
