Johan Melin

Born 1979, Sweden. Lives and works in Denmark. Graduated in direction at the National Film School of Denmark, 2005.

Has a background as a journalist and has studied at the Stockholm Film School and at the University of Stockholm (Film and Media department). Adheres to an open, collaborative work style in relation to cast, crew and methods.

Melin's graduation film Steppenwolves (2005) deals with the theme of loneliness that runs like a current through his work. Made his feature film debut with the striking filmic achievement Preludium (2008), where everything happens in real time and in one take. (Danish Film Institute)
