The 13th Baltic Sea Documentary Forum will take place this year from September 1-6 in Riga, Latvia.

The Forum’s key objectives are to develop documentary film culture and to promote documentary filmmaking in the Baltic Region and international co-productions and dissemination of Baltic and Polish documentary films in Europe.

The first day of the Forum will de dedicated to documentary production and distribution on various platforms. The three following days, 24 producers will be invited to work on making trailers, pitching and co-production opportunities. They will be asked to present their projects to 16 international buyers during the last two days of the workshop.

Screenings of documentaries for general audiences will be held parallel to the Forum. Documentary producers from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland – as well as from other European countries such as Russia, Byelorussia, the Ukraine and Georgia with documentaries related to the Baltic region – are invited to submit their applications by June 5, 2009.
