film profile], Nordisk Film will release the second and third films based on Stieg Larsson;s best-selling novels simultaneously across Scandinavia in the autumn.
The second film, The Girl Who Played with Fire [+see also:

film profile], will be released in Sweden, Norway and Denmark on September 18 and in Finland a week later. The third film, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest [+see also:

film profile], will open in Sweden, Norway and Denmark on November 27 and in Finland early January 2010.
Both films were directed by Sweden’s Daniel Alfredsson, star Mikael Nyqvist as journalist Mikael Blomquist and Noomi Rapace as IT hacker Lisbeth Salander. “The last two films will focus to an even greater extent on Lisbeth Salander and her story. All Salander fans will definitely be satisfied,” said producer Sören Stærmose of Yellow Bird.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has been seen by over 2.5m people in the Nordic countries so far. Last weekend, the film was still number one in Sweden and number three in Denmark after nine weeks, and number two in Norway after seven weeks.
The first instalment of the thriller will open in France on May 13 and Italy and Spain on May 29.
