At the end of the 41st Directors’ Fortnight (May 14-24), Frédéric Boyer will take over as delegate general of the famous Cannes sidebar. He replaces Olivier Père, who is leaving to head the Locarno Film Festival (see news).

Appointed yesterday by the Society of Film Directors (SRF), Boyer has since 2004 been a member of the small team of selectors for the Directors’ Fortnight, chosen by Père. Aged 50, he is also the founder of Vidéosphère, the foremost video club for Parisian film enthusiasts.
