Top German actors board Iron Sky

Götz Otto (Tomorrow Never Dies), is the latest addition to the German cast of the Finnish space comedy Iron Sky by Timo Vuorensola, which has been building its fan base among web users since last year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Otto, who plays the fanatic Moon Nazi officer Klaus Adler, eager to invade the Earth, says about the project: "When I first heard about Iron Sky I instantly realized that it's a really wicked idea, something only a Finn could come up with. Being German, I thought it would be time for a comedy and spoof about this topic!"

Other German cast members include Udo Kier (Dogville [+see also:
trailer

), Julia Dietze ( ½ Ritter) and veteran actor Tilo Prückner (Neverending Story). US actors will join the cast in late summer. No delivery date has been set yet for the film produced by Finland’s Energia Productions, Blind Spot Pictures and Cinet, in co-production with Germany’s 27 Films.

Producer Tero Kaukomaa (Blind Spot) and Vuorensola are in Cannes with new teaser posters and Iron Sky signal videos available since May 13 on the Iron Sky YouTube channel. An Iron Sky console/computer game is also being developed The filmmaker will discuss the marketing of Iron Sky and of his previous internet hit Star Wreck at an industry gathering at the UK Film Centre in Cannes on May 16.
