Ready to welcome international buyers from their usual desk at the Scandinavian Terrace at Cannes, Michael Werner and his NonStop Sales team have six new titles on offer, including five market premieres.

The latest addition is Pål Øie’s horror movie Hidden [+see also:
trailer
film profile], the fifth most successful Norwegian film of 2009 at the local box office. Øie made his breakthrough in 2001 with Dark Woods, recently voted the scariest Norwegian film ever. He continues to explore the dark sides of human nature in Hidden, which stars Kristoffer Joner. The film is having its market premiere today.

Another new title at the market is the Mira Sorvino and Gabriel Byrne vehicle Leningrad, directed by Russian filmmaker Alexander Buravsky. The WWII drama follows the heroic British journalist Kate Davis during the Nazi siege of Leningrad in the winter of 1941. The UK/Russian co-production is available for selected territories, including France, Italy and Germany.

Other premieres include the Norwegian Storm in My Heart by Pål Jackman (Detector), winner of the Audience Award at the latest Tromsö Film Festival; the Indian ecological thriller The Forest, starring Ankul Vikal (Slumdog Millionaire [+see also:

film profile]); and the US genre film Jack in the Box.

Werner is starting negotiations on the Norwegian family adventure film Magic Silver, co-directed by Roar Uthaug (Cold Prey [+see also:

film profile]) and Katarina Launing. The film about the adventures of princess Bluerose, a small elf living deep in the Norwegian mountains, is produced by Jørgen Storm Rosenberg (The Bothersome Man [+see also:
